Happy Joe's has been part of New Ulm since 1979, and today our restaurant on North Broadway is locally owned by someone who knows it inside and out. Owner Travis Hermel started here in 1998 as a 16-year-old part-time delivery driver, worked his way up to assistant manager by 2001, and reopened the doors in summer 2025 with the community behind him.
Our menu features more than a dozen signature pizzas plus build-your-own options, led by the Taco Pizza that has made Happy Joe's a go-to for pizza in New Ulm for generations. You'll also find wings, pasta, sandwiches, breakfast pizza any time we're open, and a true local favorite: Joe's Broasted Chicken. Gluten-free and cauliflower crusts are available on small pizzas.
Our dining room is open daily from 11 a.m., and it's a relaxed, family-friendly stop among restaurants in New Ulm, with a kids menu and high chairs for the little ones. Save room for ice cream in New Ulm, too. Enjoy a sundae or a scoop at your table, or grab a pint to take home.
